The Beast from the East has finally arrived and I have found myself hauled up at home, heating on, hot chocolate drinking and with a big sheet of paper in front of me! I used to love knowing the snow was going to come. I'd wait by the radio, getting ready as slow as possible, hoping to hear the presenter announced the glorious words that meant my school was closed for the day!
So today - with many of the Swale Schools being closed due to the weather I sat at home thinking about what the highs and lows were of secondary school. I thought about what Year 6 pupils might be thinking already about moving up in September; were they hopeful or worried or somewhere in between? I wondered about Year 7's - did the things they worried about in year 6 happen. How is it all going now they are in their second term?
As part of my role, I am starting to put together a transition project and I am excited to be putting it together but especially looking forward to working with year 6's, 7's and our peer mentors in the creation of it. Look out for more developments over the next couple of months - maybe we will be coming to your school or youth group to hear your ideas about what is needed
