Who are we?

Swale Youth Consortia are passionate about Swale and the young people who live here. We are a partnership of local charities and organisations who were already working with children and young people in Swale, and who saw that we can do more when we work together!

We believe that by working together we can help more young people to have fun and achieve a better quality of life. We are local people and local organisation who are generating ideas with and for local children and youth!

The Who's & Whats

Swale Youth Consortia has been commissioned by KCC who awarded us a grant to deliver a youth service until the end of 2021. Our hope and our drive is to continue growing what we already deliver and  grow more opportunities for children & young people. Most importantly, it is to listen to the local youth, be inspired by their ideas and work with them to transform inspiration into reality.

SYC is led by the Housing Association, Optivo, and managed day to day by Brogdale CIC

We're all in this together!

We are a partnership of the following organisations:

Optivo, Brogdale CIC, SeaShells Children's centre, Sheppey MattersCreed Outdoor Learning

We deliver youth clubs in Eastchurch, Faversham, Kemsley, Newington, Rushenden, Sheerness, & Teynham. This includes clubs for young people with additional needs. If you are a local village or parish interested in us talking to you about starting up youth work - do get in touch. Click here see our whole list of clubs or download this file

We also design great holiday activities for young people and throughout the year CREED provide wide reaching outdoor learning to schools and youth clubs.

We are now also providing local schools with an accredited Peer Mentoring project, Year 6 Transition project & Emotional Health & Wellbeing workshops . We've even  created a graffiti workshop which works with young people to design emotional health banners for The Mill Skatepark in Sittingbourne.

Seashells have great stay and play events and workshops, working with teens who are pregnant or teenagers who are parents,  supporting them if they have specific needs that can not be met by the usual referral routes.

In addition to core group of delivery partners there are associate members who deliver specific projects:

MIND Maidstone who are delivering some specific counselling measures for young people in Oasis Academy.

Sateda Swale specific workshops around coping with domestic violence in the family and healthy relationships

Ideas Test who have recently delivered some art workshops with Leeds castle for children who attend the clubs
