Monday Nights are great!
We have had a great term back at Monday Night Youth Club - it has been so nice to be back, to see friends again; and for one of our young people, to beat leader Zac at pool again!
Monday Nights are held at West Faversham Community Centre and are specifically for children and young people aged 8 to 25 years, with disabilities.
At our club we agree than not everyone is the same but we embrace differences and include everyone. Everybody gets a go and everybody has fun.
When you come to the club, the room is filled with activities! We have 2 pool tables, arts, craft, lots of sports (even indoor archery). We also have a computer for video games, but we monitor our time so that we don't spend all evening playing them. One of the young people told us that Leader Debs had helped him improve his pool skills by teaching him to slow down, look at the table and work out his best move, (he then proceeded to beat me twice!).
We have recently been able to talk about how we feel about being back at school, and about what we are hoping will happen come Christmas time. Usually we have a Christmas trip to the local pantomime; we loved seeing Cinderella at The Arden, we even got to meet her! This year will be different but we are excited for the challenge to try something different at club in how we celebrate.
Last week we thought about why we come to youth club. You can see above what Monday Nights mean to us! Long may it continue.
If you want to join us, we can only have up to 15 at the moment, so please book by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
