Earth Day - Getting Involved

20th April 2021

Earth Day is on April 22 and Swale Borough Council are hosting a Youth Webinar to give you an opportunity to learn & share, question, and help to write Swale’s new climate pledge with your ideas.

Swale Earth Day Youth Webinar 2

Up to one billion people taking action to protect the planet as part of Earth Day this year - will you be one of them?

The theme of Earth Day 2021 is Restore Our Earth, and because of the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions around the world, the Swale events will be online - but that makes it even easier to be involved!

If you are 13-17, you can book into the Swale Earth Day Youth Webinar happening on Thu 22 Apr 2021 at 17:00 now!

Why would I do that?

Join the Swale Earth Day Youth Webinar to learn about the work being done to protect the environment and reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. Hear from local groups and organisations with work experience opportunities, volunteering insights, and their tips and tricks for living more sustainably.

You Get to...

  • Share what you are doing to help tackle climate change
  • Helping to write Swale’s new climate pledge with your ideas.
  • Quiz our officers on what they are doing to increase recycling rates, reduce single-use plastic and help think of ways to combat fast fashion.
  • Use the Q&A to ask your burning questions and suggest what you would like to see done in the borough. On the one-year anniversary of Swale’s Climate and Ecological Emergency Action Plan, you can find out what we’ve been up to.

Hosted by Swale Borough Council and Faversham Town Council, all attendees will be able to claim their ‘Seedballs’ as part of our free seed giveaway.

This event is open to those aged 13-17 only. Please ask a parent to complete the booking form, including the agreement to our safeguarding terms and conditions.

Later on, this week our Earth Day video goes live! You can return here to watch it, or set a notification on youtube to watch it!
