Boost Award 2019

25th June 2019

What boosts you?

For the last two years part of Swale Youth's provision has been to support Secondary School's in setting up and running Peer Mentoring programmes; who will boost their peers wellbeing! We have trained over 175 young people as Peer Mentors in our Boost Project.

Over the last year, I have noticed that some pupils have really grown into this role and gone above and beyond in supporting young people and growing this programme in their school. Some have helped train, others helped with admin or created their own resources. It is amazing to see all this potential bursting out of these young people; boost their peers and making a difference in their local school.

To celebrate these young people we have come up with The Boost Award. We have asked each school to propose a young person from each group who has stood out in their mentoring in:

Service to the community

Wellbeing (commitment to wellbeing)

Attitude & Character

Leadership

Enthusiasm

BOOST: how they have personally grown and/or grown others

(see what we did there!)

I have read through all the nominations and they are all amazing - I don't know how are judges are going to whittle it down to one!

Each nominee will receive a certificate and a cupcake from Food With Friends, Ashford which is run through Brogdale CIC. We are really looking forward to celebrating these young people.

The winner will receive a gift bag (including the cupcake!) and an award engraved with their name!

Results will be announced 1st July! If you want to be part of making this bigger and better for next year - we would love to hear from you!
